Sydney Nova Scotia Real Estate Prospects

Properties have increased in rural Cape Breton in part due to European (esp. German) investment.

I am considering a house purchase in Sydney Cape Breton NS. Prices are very low in Canadian terms and rents are high because of local colleges nearby (another in construction).  Cape Breton University in Sydney has the highest proportion of foreign students in the country supporting high rents.  Still, I am not sure given the very poor economy of the east coast.  Any thoughts on prospects?
