Q: We do not have the big bucks to put into a holiday house or getaway condo, but would like to own a piece of land to park our RV. Do you think that is viable?

A: In our great province, there are a number of trailer parks and strata campsites that you can buy.

Benefits are that you have a “holiday” place you can use over and over … and perhaps get rental income when not there. Also, some have seen substantial price declines and it may be a good buy now.

Strata-campsite opportunities abound in the Okanagan and across the province. For example, an RV lakeshore lot at Sproat Lake outside of Port Alberni on Vancouver Island is offered at $169,000, which includes a boat slip. Also, in the northern Cariboo, a lakefront RV campground site at Witch Lake goes for $88,500 and also includes boat moorage and private docks.
